Barreirinha

The Barreirinha complex, located at the end of the old part of the town, offers good conditions to its visitors and the water quality is certified by the ‘Blue Flag’. The complex is watched over by a lifeguard.
Apart from the access to the sea and to a small pebble beach, Barreirinha also provides changing rooms, lockers, parasols, sun beds, a snack bar, first aid services and a car park.

Overlooking the pier and located next to São Tiago Fortress, this is always a nice option for those wanting to go for a quick dive close by, especially during the week, as weekends do tend to get overcrowded on this bathing complex. Access is paid, but prices are very affordable.
