Porto Santo

Porto Santo with its 9 km long beach of soft golden sand is a bather’s paradise. Many people say that there’s nothing to do in Porto Santo besides going to the beach. Well… that’s more or less true, but you will see that once you are facing that wonderful golden sand, kissed by crystal clear waters, you will be the first to say, “This is life. I just want to lie here and do nothing”!

Besides its natural enchantment the Porto Santo beach offers several snack bars, sun shades made from palm leafs to cool off a bit and toilets with showers.

This beach is also famous for the therapeutic properties of its sand. Now scientifically proven, these sands are said to alleviate the pain caused by rheumatism and to accelerate the recovery of broken bones.

To those who don’t live in Porto Santo, there is only one beach. However, this huge beach is divided into several smaller beaches, each with their own name.
