Capela da Boa Viagem
This chapel, popularly known as Boa Viagem Chapel (literally ‘Good Trip Chapel’) was, according to the Priest Fernando Augusto da Silva, originally founded in 1655 and dedicated to Our Lady of Redemption. However, this foundation date doesn’t match with the inscription on the chapel’s portal, which is indicating 1683.

Closed to worship in the first quarter of the 20th century, it was legated to Funchal’s Municipality. Since the restoring works are finished, it serves as an exhibition place for the masterpieces of Henrique and Francisco Franco.
