Fajã de Ovelha Faja da Ovelha
As most of the parishes on the island, this village developed from a big concentration of population around a small chapel.

The narrow sleepy tracks and alleys that criss-cross the village with its typical houses and beautiful gardens will enchant the curious visitor.

Part of the village is sitting on a rock, of which traditions says that it is protected by Saint Amaro so that Fajã da Ovelha doesn't fall onto the village of Paúl do Mar lying below at the sea side.
