Garden of Indigenous Plants of Sao Vicente

At the centre of the small town of São Vicente on the north coast of Madeira there is a fascinating garden dedicated to the indigenous floral species of the island.

A wide range of species growing in the ‘Laurissilva’ forest and other endemic vegetation from the ocean cliffs can be seen here. The garden, which is open to the public, occupies an area of 2200 square meters and gives valuable insight into the botanical patrimony of Madeira.
