Guinness world records™ Firework display New Years Eve - Madeira Island 2006/2007
Madeira Island has won a certificate for the biggest firework display in the world; a spectacular event which took place 31 December 2006/07 breaking the Guinness world records, the third most read book in the world.
The impressive firework display was launched from Funchal city harbour, surroundings and spread across various regions creating the largest firework display. About 37 stations where set and inspected by the Guinness World Records™ technicians, who visited these locations to analyze its distance and size. By 1:30 am 1st January 2007 decision was announced and Madeira Island was granted the title.
The Fireworks show was the most amazing and the largest in the world and every year Madeira Island continues to impress millions. The spectacular event was executed by Macedo’s Pirotecnia a well known brand.
