British Airways currently operates three weekly direct flights between London Gatwick (LGW) and Madeira (FNC), but according to the airline, it is preparing to increase that number to five flights a week as from July, which will then drop again to four flights a week during the winter.

With this growth, the number of weekly flights will generate more than 30,000 seats for this route during the summer and 25,000 in winter. ANA Airports of Portugal reported that these figures reflect the airline’s recognition of the importance of this route.

With the increase in the number of flights, British Airways offers tourists the possibility of taking advantage of Madeira’s fantastic year-round climate at a distance of only four hours flight from London to Madeira.
