Portuguese Ambassador Calls for Direct TAP Flights between Caracas and Funchal

This is a long-standing objective requested by the Portuguese, especially those who have emigrated to Venezuela and those with family residing there. The direct flight connection between Caracas and Funchal (Madeira Island) was one of the requests made by the Portuguese Ambassador in Venezuela, João Pedro Fins do Lago, to the Portuguese Airline (TAP), who insisted once again on "Madeira Day," which was celebrated on the 1st of July.

The Portuguese national airline has long been aware of the desire of the Portuguese-Venezuelan community, mostly composed of Madeiran people, for a direct connection that will be equally important for bilateral relations between the two countries.

Currently, there are three weekly flights between Caracas and (Lisbon) Portugal, connections that were resumed about a year ago to only one connection, and due to high demand, TAP has increased to three connections.
