There are numerous nautical competitions and activities scheduled for the municipality of Funchal that will take place throughout the month of August and until September 3rd, 2023.
Starting this week is "Funchal Nautical 2023", an initiative of the Funchal City Hall that is organizing a series of events promoting the interaction of the general public with the largest "open training ground" of Madeira Island, its ocean.
Promoting this connection with the ocean to all residents, but also to those who visit this Atlantic island, is the main objective of the municipality's programme, which aims to introduce a set of nautical sports, in an event for all tastes, which only ends on 3 September 2023.
Therefore, several competitions will be held, some international, namely: 'Len Junior European Championships Artistic Swimming' (August 2nd and 6th), the 'V Regata Porto Santo Line' (August 11th and 15th), 'Primeiras Pagaiadas' (kayak - August 12th), '1st stage of NELO 510 CUP (kayak)' and the '20th Traditional Canoe Regatta of Funchal 2023' (August 19th), 'XXVIII Prova de Mar José da Silva SACA' (August 20th), 'VAISS – Round the Island in Surfski' (August 23rd and 27th), and 'OCEANMAN Madeira' (September 2nd and 3rd), respectively.
