The Santa Cruz Book Fair will take place from April 23rd to 28th at Promenade dos Reis Magos beach, in the parish of Caniço, Madeira Island.
The third edition of the event brings the guest poet and journalist Filipa Leal to Madeira with the goal of delivering an ode to literature in all of its forms and expressions. This event, like the previous edition, promises to be a success.
The Santa Cruz Book Fair will feature poetry, literature, music, art, and open-air cinema sessions at the fairgrounds, along with concerts by Mafalda Veiga and Ana Lua Caiano. This year's literary gathering will also commemorate the 50th anniversary of April 25th, the Portuguese revolution that paved the way for the democratic regime.
The Book Fair presents thus a very diversified programme, allowing the public to approach the guest writers, the integration of the juvenile pubic where it is foreseen that near 1500 children will pass by the Fair, the presence of more booksellers, several creative workshops, book presentations, dance, puppet shows, theatre and theatre performances, as well as, social awareness, for the animal issue, and several guest artists for unforgettable musical moments.
