Ukrainian Fair in Funchal, Madeira Island, 12 August 2023

Ukrainian refugees and migrants who have arrived in Madeira as a result of the Russia-Ukraine conflict will organise and hold a fair in Funchal.

The 'Ukrainian Talents and Services Fair' is the name of the event that will take place on Saturday, August 12, starting at 15:00 h, at the Funchal Youth Centre. The fair aims to provide a better understanding of this community, which is currently going through a very difficult period due to the Russian attack on their country.

Participants in this Ukrainian Fair will have the opportunity to watch art and dance demonstrations as well as sample some traditional Ukrainian delicacies. Highlighting the 'popular science' workshop, specially dedicated to a younger audience, during the event, there will also be a networking fair, including a session of business 'speed dating' and creative workshops, but this time aimed at a more mature audience. The fair will conclude with a performance by Ukrainian dancer and actress Khrystyna Slobodianiuk, who will also offer a dance workshop to all present. There will be some products on sale, the proceeds of which will go to the Ukrainian cause.

Participation in this fair is completely free, but because space is limited, those interested must register in advance through the registration form.
