The beach of Calheta is one of the most special areas of the island. The dry and stony land urges you towards the sea. The beach is a mixture of rocky pools and sandy dunes with crystalline waters and a perfect playground for children. This is Calheta beach!
The contrast of the blue sea and the brown-yellow of the rocks, the impressive view over the Cal Islet and the tranquillity of the area convey the feeling of being on another planet!
Located in the extreme west of the island, this beach was granted the ‘Blue Flag’ confirming excellent water conditions and facilities (changing rooms, lockers, restaurant service, lifeguard service, first aid centre and car park).
