Funchal’s Aleste Musical Festival will take place on May 23, 24, 25, and 26 at the Barreirinha Beach Complex, Funchal, and other exciting venues. This year's festival boasts multiple stages and performances by various bands.
Although a relatively new event, this beach party is emerging as a very popular musical event aimed at discovering and promoting Portuguese and international artists, and this year is no exception with musical genres crossing techo, jazz, and post-rock.
On May 23rd, catch performances at Jacafé featuring La Flama at 17:00 and at Museu Café with Biqueira at 19:30, followed by Pedro da Linha at 21:00. The excitement continues on May 24th with a boat tour and lunch at Cais do Sardinha in Ponta de São Lourenço, along with a surprise concert. Later that evening, head to Barreirinha Church (Igreja/largo do Socorro) for electrifying performances by MonteVerde Folkloric Group, Despique a Pique, Madeira Brinco, Silk, Jazz Chicks, and Chromazone.
To conclude Aleste 2024, on Sunday 25th, head to Jaca Hostel in Porto da Cruz for an all-day party and brunch to the sounds of DJ Pizza and DJ King Kami.
