• Hot Weather Returns to Madeira

The high temperatures experienced in recent days in Madeira are expected to continue until the end of the week and have already prompted a "yellow warning" from the authorities.

Temperatures nearing 30 degrees Celsius were recorded in Madeira, which led the Instituto Português do Mar e da Atmosfera (IPMA) to issue a yellow warning for the hot weather, warning residents to take precautionary measures to avoid forest and urban fires, as well as for health care for the elderly, especially ensuring they stay properly hydrated.

Despite the hot weather on Madeira island, the temperatures are far from what is happening from North to South of the national territory, where the IPMA has placed thirty municipalities at maximum risk of rural fires due to excessively hot weather that will persist until next Sunday, with temperatures reaching up to 37°C in some areas.
