The Madeira Street Arts Festival, which will be held today and tomorrow, 6th and 7th of November, on the streets of Funchal with the aim of dynamizing Madeira in an innovative and positive way, combining visual arts with performing arts. On November 6, between 3:30 pm and 5:30 pm, and on November 7, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm, it will be possible to enjoy the street show with six unique living statues, representing a specific theme. They are: “Almost (im) possible figure” by António Santos, “Force of Nature” by Guilherme Ferrier, “Cartonette” by Ita Branco, “Sailor” by Luís Fonseca, “Autumn” by Katarina Ferreira and “Love is blind” by Susana Bento. The organization informs that “Madeira is one of the most desirable tourist destinations in the world. Bringing performing art, dance, theater, music, living statues, juggling, among other artistic manifestations, to the public space further dignifies our destiny.” The festival also features a “workshop” on living statues, given by the trainers António Santos and Guilherme Ferreira. The central idea is to provide experiences without any kind of barriers, offering a diversified cultural experience to tourists and residents, permitting a harmonious cohabitation between Madeira's culture, architecture and history, bringing professional artists closer to people.
