• Madeira Heatwave

Temperatures are set to rise in the Madeira Island Archipelago, and a heatwave is expected next week.

Next week, thermometers on Madeira Island are expected to exceed 30°C due to the passage of a hot and dry tropical air mass. According to the forecasts of the Portuguese Institute and Atmosphere (IPMA), the air temperature may even reach 33°C as early as next Monday, June 26th, and remain at this peak until the following day.

According to the IPMA, temperatures should start rising by next Sunday. Ponta do Sol, Quinta Grande, Porto Moniz, and Pico do Areeiro will be the places that should register very significant extreme values for this late spring.

It is expected that the hot and dry air mass will start to diminish only after June 28th.
