Madeira tourism wins the 'Marketeer 2023' award for the excellence of its destination, an important recognition that distinguishes it from other Portuguese assets.
The award that the Madeira destination received this week was attributed by the renowned magazine specialising in the tourism sector, 'Marketeer'. The election for the category of "best tourism destination" of the "Marketeer` Awards, now in its 15th edition, fell upon this Atlantic island through a voting process by the readers of the aforementioned marketing magazine. Madeira competed and dethroned destinations such as the Region of Porto and the North, Lisbon, the centre of the country, and the Algarve.
This award, whose ceremony took place at the Beato Convent in Lisbon, is already being assumed by the regional public entities responsible for the sector as an award that reinforces the prestige of this island destination while also increasing the responsibility and commitment to maintaining this leadership.
Speaking of awards, it's worth mentioning that the Best Island Destination in the World, Madeira, is once again nominated for "Best European Festival and Event Destination," "Best European Island Destination," "Best European Adventure Destination," "Best European Beach Destination" (Porto Santo), and "Best European Sustainable Destination", five categories in the "Oscars of Tourism," the World Travel Awards (Voting is still open until August 20th).
