Madeira Wine sales increased by 8.4% in the first six months of 2023, with an additional 1.5 million litres sold, for a total revenue of around 11 million euros.

The recent data provided by the Madeira Wine, Embroidery, and Handicraft Institute (IVBAM) and disclosed by the Regional Directorate of Statistics reveal that the increase recorded in the commercialization of Madeira Wine shows positive homologous variations. In other words, Madeira wine was sold in greater quantity (+4.6%) and at a higher value (+8.4%).
 
As such, the revenue settled at 10.9 million euros generated from January to June this year, as 317.3 thousand litres were sold in Portugal, 248.1 thousand litres of which were sales made in Madeira, 709.3 thousand litres in the entire European Union, and 481.9 thousand litres in exports to third countries.
