• MaXi Race Madeira 2018

The MaXi Race Madeira, organised by Madeira-Way in collaboration with the Clube Naval do Seixal and the Municipality of Porto Moniz, takes place this year on the 4th and 5th of December. This is extreme trail running and not for the faint-hearted. The event organisers see the event as enabling runners to take up the call to travel the world, explore and discover beautiful landscapes and scenery through a series of very challenging races.

The MaXi Race Madeira comprises of three events, the 25km Starter race, the 68km Long race and the ultimate challenge, the 103km Ultra race. No matter what the distance the competition runners will race through, over and ascend some of the most spectacular scenery that Madeira has to offer including the UNESCO Laurisilva Forest, levadas, mountain peaks, ranges, tunnels and narrow twisting paths, challenging each runner to the very limit of their endurance.

The competition is open to competitors aged 20 – 75 years old with entries strictly limited. To enter, participants must show that they have completed in two Ultra-competitions to enter the 103km race. Long runners must prove that they have successfully finished at least one 68km race while Starters must be able to prove that they have raced at their set distance. Registration is open until the 1st of December.
