McDonald's, the world's most popular and largest American fast-food chain, opens a new restaurant in Madeira today, November 25th, Funchal's first drive-thru and the latest addition to the McDonald's family of restaurants.
The new McDrive restaurant is near the roundabout on Av. Mário Soares in São Martinho, Funchal, next to Leroy Merlin, in a booming commercial area. This is the fourth restaurant brand on the island, following the first on Avenida do Mar, the second in Madeira Shopping, and the third in Forum Madeira.
The facility features in-restaurant dining with 165 seating options and a terrace with 120 seats, two McDrive access lanes, a children's playground, 38 underground parking spaces, and two rapid charging points for electric vehicles.
The Funchal McDrive restaurant was designed with modern, environmentally friendly features in mind, as well as a number of the latest technologies available to customers, such as mobile order and Pay technology, digital self-order kiosks and menu boards, USB sockets, table service, McCafé, and even McDelivery with the new order and payment format through the McDonald's app.
The Funchal McDrive restaurant will be managed by Miguel Ferreira, a McDonald's Portugal franchisee with over 25 years of experience who is also in charge of six other McDonald's locations in the Autonomous Regions of Madeira and the Azores.
