On 2nd May a spokesperson for the Funchal Trade and Industry Association (ACIF), announced that a golf tournament is to be held at Clube de Golfe do Santo da Serra on the 20th May to celebrate 600 years of Madeira. The tournament is limited to 100 competitors and 30 international players have already been confirmed.
The Regional Secretary for Tourism and Culture has also announced that there are plans to hold a second tournament on Porto Santo later on in the year.
