New Year's Eve is just around the corner, and as is tradition on Madeira Island, many cruise ships choose to dock or anchor near the iconic Funchal bay, to watch its fantastic fireworks, contemplating all of the capital's amphitheatre, with a privileged view from the ocean.
This New Year's Eve, eight cruise ships are scheduled to dock in Funchal Bay, all of which will be sailing at full capacity or close to it.
So, for this Sunday, 31 December, the first to arrive will be MEIN SCHIFF 1 at around 05:30, followed by ARCADIA at 06:45, QUEEN VICTORIA at 07:00, BOREALIS at 07:00, SPIRIT OF ADVENTURE at 10:00, MARELLA EXPLORER at 16:00, AIDACOSMA at 21:30 and MEIN SCHIFF 3 at 22:00.
Approximately 20,000 passengers are expected to greet the arrival of 2024 from Funchal's bay.
