• Paul do Mar Beach

Paul do Mar beach, also known as Ribeira das Galinhas (Chicken’s River), is one of the most popular pebble beaches on the western coast, due to its pleasant atmosphere and beautiful landscape. Although it has no surveillance, this small beach has showers, restaurants and bars nearby, and is also popular among surfers, who attend various local surfing events. The most popular places are the area in front of Maktub bar (to the west) and a family-friendly beach by the port (to the east), Porto de Abrigo do Paul do Mar, in the fishing village, where you will find the ‘Man of the Sea’ statue. So the area in-between is the perfect place for those looking for a quiet beach. Even when it offers sunshine galore, it has the advantage of never being overcrowded. The port is the place chosen to host Festa da Lapa, a lively local festival dedicated to limpets.

Spend a day here and forget all about your daily life stress!
