• Madalena do Mar

Located next to Ponta do Sol, the sea village of Madalena do Mar was once an important centre of sugarcane production. Currently, the primary sector continues to be the basis of its economy, as it has one of the largest banana plantations on the whole island, thanks to its fertile land and favourable climate. That’s why this is the perfect place to host the annual Banana Exhibit, in July, where you will be impressed by the size of the banana bunches.

Stroll on the promenade, parallel to the nice pebble beach, while enjoying the landscape, marked by the blue sea and the green mountains, and along the way you will find several restaurants and bars, and Santa Madalena church is also really close.
