Porto Moniz Village

The village of Porto Moniz is a popular tourist destination with the most beautiful natural pools in the whole island that offer great bathing conditions and support facilities, not to mention breathtaking views.

When entering the village, take this opportunity to visit the Porto Moniz Mother Church, also known as Nossa Senhora da Conceição Church. Along the sea there is a promenade from the natural pool complex to the pier, passing by the free access Cachalote natural pools. On the way you will find green areas, the 'Living Science Centre' (Centro de Ciência Viva) and Madeira Aquarium, as well as snack bars and restaurants that serve local specialities, including traditional seafood dishes.

Anyone visiting this village at the end of July will almost certainly enjoy Sea Week, the most popular event in Porto Moniz, which includes musical performances, sports and recreational activities.
