Clube Amigos do Basquete (CAB Madeira)

This basketball club is more commonly known as CAB Madeira and was formed on the 30th November 1979 and is based in Funchal. Both male and female teams compete at the highest levels, and the men’s team has won both the Portuguese Cup and the Portuguese League Cup. The women’s team has had more success having won the Portuguese League six times, the Portuguese Cup seven times and the Vitor Hugo Cup three times to name but a few. Also, both the club’s male and female youth teams have enjoyed notable success.

The club has also had several noteworthy foreign team players including American Nate Johnston, Serbian Branko Djipalo and Puerto Rican, Bobby Joe Hatton.
