Created on the 1st May 1952, Clube Naval do Funchal is a leisure complex with various offshoots around the capital. It covers a wide range of nautical activities including surfing, canoeing, swimming, stand up paddle board, sailing and disabled sports such as sailing, canoeing, swimming, diving, adapted surfing and Judo.

Although the club’s main activities are nautical, they are keen to promote other non-water-based sports such as karate, judo and dancing.

The club’s facilities also include a restaurant, diving centre, saltwater pool, children’s playground and gymnasium. With a large membership, the club also prides itself on being open to the public and charges approximately €10 per day per person.
